Krause Springs

For water lovers, choose from over 30 springs to swim, relax and cool off in to beat the Texas heat.

Located just 30 minutes from Austin in Spicewood, the Krause family owns 115 acres of land on the National Registry of Historical Sites, and they have been welcoming guests and campers for over 50 years.

Activities

Swimming

With many springs to choose from, one can find their oasis of choice among the magnificent 500 year old Cypress trees, many as tall as 200 ft. Some of the springs empty into either the manmade or natural pools, both of which flow into Lake Travis.  Although mainly a low key excursion, where visitors can keep to themselves or share the pools with others, more adventurous spirits can explore the cave behind the waterfall or jump from the rope swing.

For those of age, bring a brew (cans only), some good tunes, and your buddies for a chill day spring-side. A butterfly garden, fountain walk, and wind chimes are available for those wanting to experience the water and a lazy day.

Accommodations

Primitive campsites (in a shaded meadow) are available as well as 24 RV sites with electricity and water.  Keep the pooch at home as there is a no dog rule.
